Apple 10th anniversary iPhones to be unveiled on 12 September
On 12 September, tech-giant Apple is going to unveil its much-anticipated 10th anniversary iPhone with a brand new design. Apple would launch the phones at an event in the newly-built Apple Park at Steve Jobs Theatre. In the run-up to the launch, a software leak by Apple has spilled a lot of beans about the phones. What can we expect from the new iPhone?
Radical iPhone redesign to "set the tone" for few years
The launch event of the new iPhones would be the company's first where non-Apple personnel would be allowed in any number to give the world a small glimpse of its new home, Apple Park. This year's event is going to be exciting as many are expecting a radical iPhone redesign. However, unlike previous years, people have a ton of information on what to expect.
Next iPhone: iPhone 8, iPhone Pro, or iPhone X?
The leak revealed several alleged details about the next iPhone codenamed "D22", which could be named iPhone 8, iPhone Pro, or iPhone X. It shows an edge-to-edge screen and almost no bezels with a cutout at the top for camera and sensors. The home button is absent, which means there's no front-facing fingerprint-scanner. So, Apple may have infrared facial recognition for unlocking the device.
Advanced camera systems and augmented reality
The next iPhone line is expected to have more advanced systems for the camera, including AR capabilities (augmented reality). It would include enhanced computation photography systems that can combine images from multiple rear cameras into a single photo. The new iPhone would allegedly have wireless charging feature allowing users to charge their devices inductively on plates/mats - the first time for any Apple smartphone.
What should we expect?
iPhone 7S and 7S Plus
Apart from the next iPhone, Apple would also unveil two updated devices of the iPhone 7 line. The new iPhone 7 iterations are expected to be called the iPhone 7S and iPhone 7S Plus. The updates would be minor improvements along with some new features.
