Apple's 10.2-inch iPad will go on sale starting October 4
Apple's latest budget-friendly iPad, which was announced alongside the iPhone 11 series and Apple Watch Series 5, will go on sale in India from October 4. The 7th-generation model replaces the entry-level 9.7-inch model with a slightly larger screen and support for a smart keyboard as well as Apple Pencil. As for pricing, the new iPad starts at Rs. 29,900. Here's our roundup.
7th-generation iPad: At a glance
The 7th-generation iPad looks pretty much like its predecessor featuring a rectangular display with chunky bezels and an aluminum chassis. It comes equipped with Touch ID, Lightning connector, Smart Connector (for keyboards), and a headphone jack. The new iPad sports a 10.2-inch screen with 2160x1620 pixels resolution at 264ppi along with support for 1st-generation Apple Pencil.
The 2019 iPad comes with a single 8MP rear camera
The new iPad offers a single 8MP (f/2.4) rear camera with support for Live Photos, HDR, 1080p video recording at 30fps, and 720p slo-mo video at 120fps. On the front, it has a 1.2MP snapper which supports HD FaceTime calling.
Under the hood
The new iPad is powered by the same A10 Fusion chip we saw on last year's 9.7-inch model, paired with 32GB/128GB of non-expandable storage. As for battery performance, it is touted to offer upto 10 hours of battery life on Wi-Fi and upto 9 hours on cellular data mode. The new iPad also gets stereo speakers, dual-band Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and dual-SIM support (Physical+eSIM).

The new 10.2-inch iPad Wi-Fi only model costs Rs. 29,900 for the 32GB model and Rs. 37,900 for the 128GB variant. If you're looking for the Wi-Fi+Cellular model, you'll have to shell out Rs. 40,900 for the 32GB variant and Rs. 48,900 for the 128GB storage option. Buyers will also get a free 1-year subscription of Apple TV+, the company's new video streaming service.
