5 new Apple iPad and MacBook models certified in Eurasia

    What's the story

Apple has registered five new iPad and MacBook models each with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

Since, in the past, Apple's ECC filings have come just before its official announcement of the same products, this time too, new iPads and MacBooks are expected to be unveiled soon.

"Apple has obtained approval for the sale of five models of laptops and tablets," a report said.

    Details

Apple could be soon launching revised iPads, MacBooks

The announcement of these products could possibly take place in September, when Apple is also expected to unveil its 2018 iPhone lineup.

So far, reports of Apple likely to introduce a revamped iPad Pro and MacBook Pro have surfaced.

The iPad Pro will feature Face ID, slim bezels, and no home button, and the MacBook Pro will focus on professionals with a better keyboard.

    History

    Consistent track record

In August 2016, Apple filed for iPhone 7, Apple Watch Series 2, Apple Watch Series 1, and AirPods, all of which were unveiled in September.

Ahead of WWDC 2017, the filings had tipped the launch of updated Magic Keyboard and new MacBooks and iPads.

In February this year, Apple filed for a new iPad, which was launched at its March education event.

    Information

    Doubts regarding older software updates

However, one thing that seems off is that, according to the filings, the registered devices will run iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra. This doesn't make sense because Apple products that'll be launched in September should ship with the latest iOS 12 and macOS Mojave.
