Ahead of launch, Apple's Powerbeats 4 earbuds hit the shelves
Apple's Powerbeats 4 seems to have gone on sale even before its official launch. The still-unannounced earbuds were spotted for sale at a Walmart store in Rochester, New York. A Twitter user going by the name Eddie Wap, has shared an image of the new Powerbeats 4, confirming some of the specifications, design features, and retail price of the earphones.
Powerbeats 4 up for grabs already
Apple Powerbeats 4: At a glance
The Powerbeats 4 arrives as an entry-level headphone for workouts, replacing the Powerbeats 3. Design-wise, Apple has made some changes while retaining the neck-band wearability. The in-line volume controls and the flat cable design of Powerbeats 3 have been replaced with Powerbeats Pro-like earpieces with top-mounted volume buttons and a rounded cable. Further, the earbuds will be available in red, white, and black colors.
The Powerbeats 4 comes with H1 wireless chip
The Powerbeats 4 comes with an H1 chip that we first saw in the second-generation AirPods. The chip allows for improved battery life, lower latency, and even lets you summon Siri by saying the magic words "Hey Siri".
It now offers up to 15 hours of battery life
The earbuds are compatible with both Android and iOS, thanks to Bluetooth connectivity. However, some of the features, like Announce Messages with Siri, will be available only on iOS devices. As for battery life, the Powerbeats 4 lasts up to 15 hours and supports Fast Fuel charging technology wherein 5 minutes of charge (via Lightning port) provides 1 hour of playtime.
Pricing and availability
According to the image shared on Twitter, the Powerbeats 4 comes with a price tag of $149 (approximately Rs. 11,000), making them $50 cheaper than the Powerbeats 3. And since Walmart has already put them on sale, we can expect an official announcement soon.
