Apple is offering free screen replacement to select Watch users
Recently, Apple said that it has identified an issue wherein "under very rare circumstances" a crack may form around the edge of the display on the aluminum case models of the Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3. And hence, the company has announced a free of cost screen replacement program for all eligible models. Here's everything you need to know about it.
What did Apple say about the issue
In an official blog post, Apple said it "has determined that, under very rare circumstances, a crack may form along the rounded edge of the screen in aluminum models of an Apple Watch Series 2 or Series 3". The company added that the "crack may begin on one side and then may continue around the screen."
Free screen replacement available at an Apple store near you
If your Apple Watch is affected by this issue, you can take it to an Apple Store or an authorized service provider to get the screen replaced for free. It may take Apple five business days to get the replacement done.
Meanwhile, here's a list of all the eligible models
All the affected Apple Watch Series 2 and Apple Watch Nike+ Series 2 models, sold between September 2016-September 2017 and October 2016-October 2017 respectively, will be eligible for free screen replacement. Likewise, the GPS and GPS+Cellular models of Apple Watch Series 3 and Apple Watch Nike+ Series 3, sold between September 2017-September 2019 and October 2017-September 2019 respectively, are also included.
