Apple iPhone SE 4 may debut tomorrow: What to expect
What's the story
Apple is preparing for the official unveiling of its latest smartphone, the iPhone SE 4, on February 11. The launch date was recently confirmed by noted Apple analyst Mark Gurman.
Unlike previous releases, this launch may not be accompanied by a special event and could be announced via a press release.
The new model is expected to feature significant design and specification upgrades over its predecessor.
Design details
iPhone SE 4: A closer look at the design
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a design similar to that of the iPhone 14, with an all-display front panel and a notch on top.
It will have an aluminum frame and a glass body, along with volume and mute buttons. The Action Button, which replaced the mute switch on the premium iPhone models, will not be offered.
The handset will sport a USB-C charging port, replacing the traditional Lightning port used in previous models.
Tech upgrades
iPhone SE 4 to feature advanced display and security
The iPhone SE 4 will sport a 6.1-inch OLED display, an upgrade from the LCD technology of previous models. The display will support 60Hz refresh rate.
In a major departure, Apple is likely to replace the Touch ID with Face ID unlocking system for improved security on this new model.
These changes are part of Apple's continuous efforts to improve user experience and device security.
Performance specs
iPhone SE 4: A powerhouse of performance
The iPhone SE 4 will likely be powered by the A18 chip with 8GB RAM, the same combination that also powers the flagship iPhone 16 model.
This means you'll get powerful performance at a lower cost. Apple may also offer a base storage option of 128GB instead of the previous 64GB.
These upgrades should make the device's performance and storage capacity significantly better.
Camera specs
iPhone SE 4: Camera and battery expectations
In the camera department, the iPhone SE 4 could continue with a single rear camera but with a higher 48MP resolution.
The front-facing camera is also likely to get an upgrade to a 12MP sensor.
Meanwhile, in terms of battery life, the phone is expected to be powered by a similar battery as the iPhone 14, offering up to 20 hours of video playback time.
