Apple iPhone 9 aka SE 2: Everything you should know
Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 9 (also being referred to as iPhone SE 2) model sometime later this month. Over the past few months, we've seen high-quality renders of the upcoming low-cost handset, some of its key specifications, a few case designs, and even a fake hands-on video. So, here's a roundup of everything you need to know about the iPhone 9.
iPhone 9: Release date
According to reports, Apple could launch the iPhone 9 by March-end. The low-cost handset has already entered production, and if rumors are any true, it could go official on March 31 and hit the shelves from April 3 onwards.
iPhone 9: How will it look like
The iPhone 9 will retain the outdated design of the iPhone 8 with a conventional rectangular screen, thick bezels, shiny metal frame, a Lightning port, and no headphone jack. Further, the handset will sport a Touch ID home button and a single rear camera to compete against Android counterparts that come with modern all-screen designs, multiple cameras, and in-screen fingerprint sensors.
The handset will be powered by an A13 flagship chipset
According to leaks, the iPhone 9 will come with a 4.7-inch LCD display that could support Haptic Touch. Under the hood, it will be powered by an Apple A13 Bionic chipset, the same flagship processor that powers the current iPhone 11 series. The phone is also expected to offer 3GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, and also run iOS 13 out-of-the-box.
It could launch at $399
According to rumors, the iPhone 9 is expected to be launched at a starting price of $399 (around Rs. 29,000 in India). Notably, this is the same price at which the original iPhone SE made its debut in March 2016.
