Apple iPhone 16 series to be launched in September
Apple's suppliers are preparing to commence production of displays for the iPhone 16, according to Ross Young from Display Supply Chain Consultants. Young states that display panels for the next-generation iPhone will start production in June and the new-generation iPhones will debut in September. This aligns with Apple's regular pattern of producing parts and components ahead of its usual iPhone launch event in fall.
iPhone 16 and 16 Pro to dominate June production
Young also revealed that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will account for the largest volume of production in June. The new iPhones are expected to come in a variety of screen sizes, including a 6.1-inch display for the standard 16 model, a larger 6.7-inch for the Plus version, a mid-sized 6.3-inch for the 16 Pro model, and an all-new expansive 6.9-inch screen for the top-tier iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Rumored features of the iPhone 16 series
The iPhone 16 lineup is rumored to feature a new "Capture" button and a 48MP ultra-wide camera for the Pro models. The standard 16 and 16 Plus are expected to have a vertical camera setup, ditching the diagonal arrangement on the current non-Pro models. This is likely to enable Spatial Video recording. The devices could also boast AI capabilities with A18 series chipsets featuring a Neural Engine with significantly more cores than its predecessor, enhancing the processing power.
