iPhone 16 Pro series to offer 4K recording at 120fps
Apple's highly anticipated iPhone 16 event is just around the corner, and fresh leaks suggest that the Pro model will feature advanced video recording capabilities. According to 9to5Mac, the upcoming device will support ultra-smooth video recording in 4K, at an impressive rate of 120fps. This feature is expected to significantly enhance the user experience, by delivering high-quality videos with smooth motion.
New camera trigger button and improved QuickTake
The iPhone 16 Pro is also rumored to introduce a new camera trigger button that will allow users to switch from the default camera app to a third-party one. Additionally, Apple is reportedly enhancing its photo mode video recording shortcut, QuickTake. This upgrade will enable QuickTake to capture videos in 4K quality, a significant improvement from the current 1080p resolution.
Additional features and potential 8K support
The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to support the JPEG-XL image format, offer the ability to pause a video recording, and provide wind noise removal. It will also introduce new special video modes and improved ML image processing for skin tones. The sensors could potentially support 8K video recording, but this feature might be reserved for a future iPhone model.
Camera button and lens upgrades
The new Camera Button, internally known as iPhone side trigger, will reportedly support slide gestures to adjust zoom or exposure. It will also offer soft and hard press support for focus and shoot. This button will utilize the same iOS 18 API, that allows users to replace the homescreen camera button with another similar app. Unlike previously, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models are rumored to feature simlar tetraprism 5x zoom lenses and upgraded 48MP ultra-wide camera.
