Apple iPhone 11's "stolen" part reiterates square triple camera design
Days after a leaked schematic revealed a square triple rear-camera setup on the upcoming iPhone 11, a fresh leak has reiterated the same design. According to images of an alleged iPhone 11's part which was reportedly stolen from a Foxconn factory, the upcoming flagship phone will indeed sport a bumpy square camera module. Meanwhile, we've already seen it in several mockups. Here's more.
iPhone 11 part confirms key details about the phone
The leaked part appears to be a mid-plate of the iPhone 11. The top-left corner of the plate shows five cut-outs designed to fit three camera sensors, and possibly an LED flash, and a microphone - similar to the iPhone 11 schematics. Moreover, there is a big hole in the center which should be for iPhone 11's wireless charging coil.
Triple cameras to offer improved Portrait photography
We expect the triple camera setup to comprise a main RGB sensor, a telephoto sensor, and a Sony-made 3D Time-of-Flight sensor. With this new Sony sensor, Apple can leverage 3D data to improve image processing and offer high-quality Portrait photography. Further, the 3D sensor will also usher in new possibilities in the world of AR and VR gaming.
But, only iPhone 11 Max will get triple rear cameras
According to a WSJ report, Apple will launch three new iPhones in 2019 i.e. successors to the premium iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs models, and the lower-cost iPhone Xr. The report also noted that the Cupertino giant will offer a triple camera setup on its most-premium model, possibly iPhone 11 Max whereas, the iPhone 11r and iPhone 11s will sport dual rear cameras.
Meanwhile, iPhone 11 will also support reverse wireless charging
According to Macotakara, iPhone 11 will support two-way wireless charging - a feature we have already seen on Galaxy S10 and recent Huawei flagships. The report notes that the next iPhone will be able to wirelessly charge devices like AirPods and Apple Watch. Notably, the all-new AirPods 2 also feature a wireless charging case, suggesting iPhone 11 would offer reverse wireless charging.
