iPhone 11's case (that can launch camera) is awfully expensive
Apple has launched the Smart Battery Cases for its latest iPhone 11 series, allowing you to expand your iPhone's battery life while adding some protection. The new "smart" cases, tailormade for your iPhone, come with a dedicated button to quick launch the Camera app and add up to 50% longer battery life. Notably, they are also compatible with Qi-certified chargers for enabling wireless charging.
These cases feature a silicone exterior and soft microfiber lining
The new Smart Battery Case, launched for the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, and iPhone 11 Pro Max, comes with a soft microfiber lining that helps protect your iPhone against abrasion. On the outside, the case features a soft silicone body that allows for an improved grip while the soft elastomer hinge design helps you easily put on or take off the case.
A dedicated camera button and precision cut-outs for other ports
Interestingly, the case also offers a dedicated camera button that directly launches the Camera app even if the iPhone is locked. With a quick press, you can take a photo or capture QuickTake video with a long press. It works for selfies as well. Additionally, the case is touted to come with precision cut-outs for the mute key and the Lightning port.
You can charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously
Like mentioned earlier, the Smart Battery Case is compatible with Qi-certified chargers. Further, you can also charge your iPhone and battery case simultaneously. It even supports USB-PD chargers and other Lightning accessories such as the EarPods. The case delivers up to 50% more battery life and displays the battery status on the iPhone lock screen as well as in the notification center.
Pricing and availability
The Smart Battery Case is priced at $129 (roughly Rs. 9,260) and is currently available in the US for the iPhone 11, 11 Pro, and 11 Pro Max. The cases can be purchased in Pink Sand, Black, and White colors.
