Apple AirPods range becomes costlier in India: Check new prices
Apple has increased the prices of its audio devices in India. Prices of products such as AirPods Generation 2 and Generation 3, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max have been hiked by 10% or up to Rs. 6,200. The price-hike is related to the recent revision in customs duty by the Indian government. The new prices are listed on the Apple online store.
Why does this story matter?
The Indian government's latest stance on imported wearables and hearables has forced Apple to increase the price of its audio devices. The policy change announced in the Union Budget 2022-23 aims to boost increase in domestic manufacturing and in turn, decrease India's current account deficit. It needs to be seen whether this will force Apple to manufacture these products domestically or not.
AirPods Pro and Max offer Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
AirPods Generation 2, Generation 3, and Pro models feature an in-ear design and IPX4-rated build quality, while the Max has an over-the-ear design. They all have an H1 chip. The Generation 3, Pro, and Max models support spatial audio with dynamic head tracking and the latter two also offer support for Active Noise Cancellation. The devices provide up to six hours of listening time/charge.
