How will these 4 augmented reality apps change iPhone's future?
Augmented Reality is the next big thing in technology and the two biggest mobile operating systems, i.e. Android and iOS both have invested in it. Google recently showed off ARCore, its take on AR and iPhone users will be getting AR on their devices via the next iOS update that has the ARKit software package. Here are some ARKit apps to look forward to.
Go furniture shopping
One of the basic apps that's been developed using AR is the IKEA app. It allows users to place actual size replicas of IKEA furniture into their houses to see if they suit the décor. Tap on the catalog, choose the furniture, tap once more to make it hover and tap again to place it. Almost 2,000 items will be available at the launch.
A 3D world of your own
Another neat one is an AR game by Climax Studios, called Arise Demo Photo. What this app does is create a scalable 3D world on a tabletop that your character can interact with, without making use of traditional controls. The user has to move around the scenes to complete the tasks and there are no on-screen controls at all, which is pretty cool.
GIFs are always welcome
GIPHY world will let you place GIFs in the 3D spaces. You can share videos or even the entire AR scene with friends, who have this app installed on their devices. The user is allowed to drop GIFs exactly where he/she wants. Every scene, that one creates, forms a unique URL that can be worked upon by the people you share the work with.
The zombie genre never dies
The Walking Dead: Our World is a location aware shooter game and if you are well acquainted with the cult TV series, you should be hyped about it. You get high-resolution zombies from all sides trying to chomp you off, while you move around trying to dodge them. You progress by rescuing survivors in the game and they would give you additional capabilities.
