Is the low-cost version of Apple AirPods Pro already here?
Apple is gearing up to expand its range of audio products with a pair of new earbuds called the AirPods X and a set of premium over-ear headphones. According to a fresh tip-off from tech analyst Jon Prosser, the AirPods X is expected to be launched in September or October, while the over-ear headphones could be announced at the virtual WWDC event in June.
Everything to know about the AirPods X
Prosser claims that the AirPods X, internally codenamed B517, will arrive as a cheaper version of the AirPods Pro. It will be suited for running and sports activities and is expected to feature a Beats X-like neck-band design. AirPods X will also offer some sort of water resistance, Siri support, better battery life as well as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) support.
AirPods X will be priced around $200
According to the tip-off, AirPods X will be priced at around $200 (approximately Rs. 15,000). To recall, the flagship AirPods Pro, with its improved truly wireless design and ANC support, costs $250 (Rs. 24,990 in India).
Apple's over-ear headphones will rival Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700
Separately, Apple's over-ear headphones (codenamed B515), have so far been kept under the wraps. However, Prosser claims it will have a design similar to the likes of Bose Noise Cancelling Headphones 700 and Sony WH-1000XM3. The new headphones should also offer studio-quality sound with features such as Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency Mode, Adaptive Equalizer, and Always-on Siri.
Apple's headphones will come with a hefty price-tag
The upcoming Apple over-ear headphones will be a premium product, and will be launched at a minimum price of $350 (approximately Rs. 27,000). In comparison, the Bose 700 was launched at $400 (Rs. 34,500 in India).
