Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro available at Rs. 2 lakh
Apple's newly launched 16-inch MacBook Pro is now available in India. The premium notebook replaces the 15-inch models with a larger, high-resolution display, a new scissor-switch keyboard, Intel's 9th-generation CPU, and improved battery life. In India, the 16-inch MacBook Pro range starts at Rs. 1,99,900 and can be purchased across all Apple authorized stores in the country. Here's our roundup.
Apple 16-inch MacBook Pro: At a glance
The new model retains the premium metallic body of the 15-inch variant while shaving off the display bezels to offer a bigger screen. Further, there is a 16-inch Retina display with 3,072 x 1,920 resolution, 500 nits of brightness and a pixel density of 226 ppi, making it the largest and sharpest screen ever on a MacBook.
There is also a new Magic Keyboard on offer
Apple has replaced the unreliable Butterfly-style keys with a new 'Magic keyboard', which incorporates scissor-style switches for better resistance against dust and gunk. There is also a physical Escape key and an inverted-T arrangement for the navigational arrow keys along with TouchBar and Touch ID.
Under the hood
The new MacBook comes in two variants with the base-end model getting a 2.6GHz 6-core i7 processor and the top-tier model packing a 2.3GHz 8-core i9 chipset. You can upgrade your configuration with upto 64GB RAM (16GB default), upto 8TB SSD storage, and upto 8GB Radeon Pro 5500M GPU. You also get a six-speaker sound system, studio-quality mics, and upto 11-hours of battery life.
Pricing and launch offers
In India, Apple is offering the base-end 16-inch MacBook Pro (Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage) at Rs. 1,99,900 while the top-end variant (Intel Core i9, 16GB RAM, 1TB storage) is priced at Rs. 2,39,900. Meanwhile, Amazon is currently offering a flat discount of Rs. 9,910 on both models while Apple authorized stores are providing upto Rs. 7,000 cashback to HDFC Bank cardholders.
