Apple is preparing to unveil its latest innovation, the iPhone 16, next week. The new model will be launched alongside three other variants—16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max. It is set to feature a slimmer design with a capsule-shaped camera module and will house Apple's new A18 chip. The device will promises improved AI capabilities as well as enhancements in display quality, battery life, and thermal management.

The iPhone 16 will sport a modern design with a capsule-shaped camera module, housing vertically arranged primary and ultra-wide lenses. A new 'Capture' button is expected to be positioned near to the power key for quick photo or video capture. The device will also get an 'Action' button for custom functions, previously exclusive to Pro models. It will feature a color-infused glass back and an aluminium body, ensuring both premium feel and durability. It will boast IP68 water resistant.
iPhone 16: Camera and performance upgrades
The iPhone 16 will sport a dual rear camera system, comprising a 48MP primary camera with OIS and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. The primary camera will offer improved low-light performance and image stabilization. The device will be powered by the A18 Bionic chip, promising significant performance improvements. It is expected to feature 8GB of RAM, further enhancing its ability to manage multiple applications and graphic-intensive tasks like gaming.
iPhone 16: AI capabilities and display
The iPhone 16 will integrate advanced AI features through iOS 18, providing personalized assistance such as activating 'Do Not Disturb' mode during meetings and offering navigation suggestions based on travel patterns. The device will sport a 6.1-inch OLED display with Dynamic Island and an upgraded Super Retina XDR panel. Don't expect 120Hz refresh rate on non-Pro iPhones this year. The display will support HDR content and Dolby Vision.

The iPhone 16 is expected to include a 3,561mAh battery, offering over 20 hours of video playback. It is expected to launch in India with a starting price of ₹79,990 for the base 128GB storage variant. However, there is speculation that Apple may price the iPhone 16 lineup lower than previous generations. This is due to the recent reduction in basic customs duty (BCD) on imported mobile phones and printed circuit board assemblies in India.
