Nokia's new budget-phone spotted; specs leaked ahead of launch
After launching some high-end Nokia smartphones, HMD Global is all set to unveil Nokia 2, a budget device. There have been a lot of rumors about it, but the Android device has now been spotted on AnTuTu benchmarking-site. The listing reveals key specifications of Nokia 2 ahead of its 31 October global launch event in India. Take a look at what the phone offers!
AnTuTu listing
Specs the upcoming Nokia 2 may come with
The AnTuTu listing shows the Nokia 2 with model number TA-1035. The specs have been reportedly revealed after HMD Global recently visited the benchmarking company. The phone would have an HD (1280x720) display, and the size is expected to be between 4.7-5.0 inch. It would be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 processor, seen in many entry-level phones, and 1GB RAM and 8GB internal-storage.
AnTuTu listing confirms most key specs
The AnTuTu listing further revealed Nokia 2 would run Android 7.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, similar to what an earlier Bluetooth SIG leak showed. Nokia 2 may also be upgradeable to Android 8 Oreo. But the same has not been confirmed yet. The highlight of the new Nokia device would be the battery; a massive 4,000mAh battery is expected to power the phone.
Optics of the phone
Coming to the optics, the entry-level Nokia 2 is expected to feature a 8MP camera on the front and a 5MP sensor on the back. Considering it is going to be a budget segment device, the cameras stick to the same concept, too.
A smaller version of the Nokia 3
It has been rumored that HMD Global was building a cheaper version of Nokia 3. Some reports claim Nokia 2 would be a younger sibling, a low-end version, of Nokia 3. However, the device maker has not revealed any information about the phone. Though it is going to be launched on 31 October, there are no details on when the phone would be available.
Expected price of Nokia 2
Nokia 3 was launched for Rs. 9,499 in India. Since Nokia 2 is expected to be a cheaper version of Nokia 3, it may be priced at around Rs. 6,000. Also, it would directly compete with Xiaomi budget phones - Redmi 4 and 4A.
