Anthropic launches Claude mobile app for iOS users
Anthropic, the company behind the innovative Claude 3 series of AI models, has unveiled a mobile app for iOS users. The new app allows users to interact with the AI models in a chatbot format and upload images directly for analysis. Previously, Claude was only accessible via Anthropic's website and third-party model libraries such as Amazon Bedrock, Hugging Face, and Microsoft Azure.
Anthropic's mobile expansion driven by user trends
Scott White, Anthropic's product manager, revealed that the decision to develop an app version of Claude was influenced by the increasing trend of users accessing AI models via mobile web. White also announced plans for a forthcoming Android version of the app. Despite these developments, Anthropic still lags behind competitors like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, which have had presence on mobile devices for several months now.
Claude app free for all AI model users
The newly launched Claude app will be available free of charge to all users of the AI models. This includes free users, subscribers to Claude Pro, and members of the newly introduced Claude Team plan. The Team plan is set to launch this month and offers access to Claude models for groups of five or more at a rate of $30 per seat per month. Users on this plan can share their work on Claude with other users.
New team plan offers enhanced features and control
The Claude Team plan includes all features available on the Pro plan but allows for more chat queries on Claude for Pro users. It also provides a larger context window for analyzing lengthy documents and maintaining intricate conversations with the chatbot. Furthermore, it grants groups increased administrative control. Anthropic has incorporated a feature that allows users to switch between its Pro subscription or the app, benefiting those who want to use Claude in their daily routines.
