Nokia phones to get Android P in August: Report
According to an e-mail that a NokiaPowerUser customer received from Nokia Mobile Care, all Nokia smartphones will receive the latest Android P update in August this year. This means that a stable version of Android P might roll out sometime in July or early August. Earlier, Google had also indicated that Android P will be officially launched in Q3 2018.
Expect Android P on these Nokia devices
The beta version of Android P, which was launched at the last Google I/O 2018 annual developer conference, is already compatible with the Nokia 7 Plus. Other Nokia phones that are expected to get Android P in August include the Nokia 2.1, Nokia 3.1, Nokia 5.1, Nokia 1, Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 2, Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 6.1, and Nokia 8.
Nokia executive confirms the news
Further, even Nokia's Marketing Manager Neil Broadley has announced that several of the devices will be updated with Android P, since for flagship roll-outs, Google needs at least two consecutive updates.
Nokia phones support Google's Android One program
All latest Nokia smartphones manufactured by HMD Global are a part of Google's Android One initiative, with support for faster, secure and timely Android OS and security updates for at least two years. Android One smartphones run a pure version of Android and have a certain edge over smartphones with a custom layer of Android.
