Android Oreo update: Will your phone get it?
As we already know, Android's latest iteration is called Android Oreo. However, now the question among the users is whether their smart device is going to get updated to this new version or not. Here is a comprehensive list of smartphone companies and which of their models are scheduled to get this update. Find out if your device is on the list or not.
The original Android maker
Let's kick-start the list with the Android maker itself. Google has said it will be updating its much-hyped Pixel devices; Nexus 6P, 5X, and Nexus Player will also get the latest version i.e. Android 8.0 Oreo. However, it is to be noted that when it comes to Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, Oreo could be their last major OS update.
The South Korean giant
The South Korean giant will update its recent flagship models first and then proceed with the older ones. The models which will get Oreo are Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy Note 7 Fan Edition, Galaxy A7 2017, Galaxy A5 2017, Galaxy A3 2017, Galaxy J7 2017, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy J5 2017, Galaxy Tab S3 and Galaxy C9 Pro.
HTC and OnePlus
According to a tweet by HTC, the phone maker will bring Android 8.0 to HTC U11, U Ultra, & 10. The roll out of the update for HTC U11 will begin from Q4, 2017. Another phone maker, OnePlus has confirmed that its latest flagship model OnePlus 5 will get the Oreo update and its previous models, OnePlus 3 and 3T will also receive it.
What's up with Motorola?
Although Motorola makes use of stock Android on its devices, it will take some time to roll out this Oreo update. There are several high-end, mid-range, budget segment devices that have been lined up for Android 8.0 update. Moto Z2 (2017), Moto Z2 Play, Moto Z Play, Moto Z Force, Moto Z, Moto G5 Plus and MotoG5 would get the update.
Xiaomi, Nokia, LG
Xiaomi, which is hugely popular in India, is likely to give Oreo updates to Mi Max 2, Mi Max, Mi 5X, Mi 6, Mi 5C and Redmi Note 5A. From the Nokia stable, Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 will receive it. When it comes to LG, it's speculated that G6, G5, V20, Q8, and Q6 will be updated to Oreo.
And, then there is Asus
Several Asus devices, like ZenFone 4 (ZE554KL), ZenFone 4 Max (ZC520KL), ZenFone 4 Max Pro (ZC554KL), ZenFone 4 Selfie (ZD553KL), ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro (ZD552KL), ZenFone Pro (ZS551KL), Zenfone Go (ZB552KL), will receive the update. Zenfone Live (ZB501KL), Zenfone 3s Max, Zenfone AR, Zenfone 3 Zoom, Zenfone 3 Max, Zenfone 3 Deluxe 5.5, Zenfone 3 and Zenfone 3 Ultra are also in the line.
