Samsung's mid-range Galaxy A5, A7 leaked, here's what we know
Samsung's long-rumored mid-range phone, the Galaxy A5 (2018), was confirmed by two sources. The phone would come with major improvements in design and internal hardware over the 2017 model. The Galaxy A7 (2018) is also expected to be nearing launch. We take a look at the specs of these phones which are expected to make their debuts in December 2017 or January 2018.
The sources indicating the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy A5
Firstly, a Samsung mobile with model number SM-A530N was listed on the US government-run Federal Communications Commission (FCC), along with certifications which are mandatory for entry into the market. Secondly, Samsung opened a dedicated support page for the same model number in South Korea, Samsung's home country. However, there was no official confirmation from Samsung regarding the A5 (2018).
Unofficial expectations regarding the A5's specs
The Galaxy A5 (2018) is expected to boast a 5.5-inch full HD+ screen. Several leaks have also hinted at the A5 having a Note-like infinity screen. Like Samsung's premium Galaxy S and Galaxy Notes, the A5 will also come with a fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone. The phone is expected to run on Samsung's proprietary Exynos 7885 processor and 4GB RAM.
The expected specs of the Galaxy A7 (2018)
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) is expected to have a 5.7-inch/6.0-inch full HD+ display, and may also sport a fingerprint sensor on the back. The phone is expected to come packed with 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, a 16MP rear camera, and a 16MP selfie camera. It's also expected to have an IP68 certification for water and dust resistance.
