Amazon sold (and delivered) yet-to-be-launched Moto Z4

    What's the story

Sometimes, internet companies make hilarious goof-ups while doing a job they are supposed to do all the time.

Just a few weeks back, Google shipped 10 replacement units of Pixel 3s (instead of one), and now, Amazon has sold and delivered a yet-to-be-unveiled device - Moto Z4.

The phone reached an unnamed party and they even shared an unboxing video of the unannounced unit.

    Issue

    Moto Z4 listed on Amazon

MotoMod-ready Moto Z4 has long been one of the most anticipated smartphones from Lenovo.

However, a few days back, Amazon listed the device on its store, complete with detailed specifications and a 360-degree MotoMod camera on offer.

The listing was soon taken off, but someone managed to place an order of the $500 worth device in the nick of time.

    Delivery

    Then, the phone was delivered

While listing and taking orders for an unannounced phone is one thing, Amazon took the case further by even delivering the phone in question.

The person recently received the new Moto Z4 with bundled MotoMod, and since then, they have been leaking all sorts of information of the device via Reddit.

Notably, the recipient has even shared an unboxing video of the device.

    Specifications

    Moto Z4: At a glance

Going by Amazon's listing (cached), Moto Z4 comes with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ OLED FullVision display (2340×1080) with Gorilla Glass 3 and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The device runs Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 675 octa-core SoC with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage; there's support for expandability too.

Meanwhile, for photography, the phone offers a 48MP shooter on the rear and a 25MP selfie snapper.

    Information

3,600mAh battery with fast charging support

The output of the 48MP shooter is trimmed down to 12MP with Moto's quad-pixel technology. Further, the device will be powered by a 3,600mAh battery, which would offer support for 15W fast charging.

    Announcement

Official announcement likely to happen soon

Now that the phone has already been shipped, we can expect Motorola to follow up with an official announcement soon. However, there is no date just yet.

It's also worth noting that the device that the person has received here is pretty buggy - a fact that seems to suggest Amazon may have shipped the device with a test/pre-release version of the final software.
