Everything to know about OnePlus 6: Features, specs and price
OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had earlier said, in a statement, that the company's 2018 flagship phone would be announced in Q2. Taking cues from this, one can expect OnePlus 6 to be unveiled anytime soon. Thanks to several leaks and reports, we already know a lot about the flagship device and guess you should also know all about it. Here's our roundup!
It's all about the screen
Much like the recently launched OPPO R15, we can expect the 2018 OnePlus flagship to sport a 6.28-inch display with an 1080 x 2280 resolution, since both the companies have followed similar design cues in the past. OnePlus 6 is likely to sport a taller 19:9 display, compared to the 18:9 display seen on OnePlus 5T- thanks to an edge-to-edge display.
An iPhone X-like notch shouldn't come as a surprise
Looking at the recent trend and leaked images, the OnePlus 6 is also expected to feature an iPhone X-like notch to house the selfie camera and other sensors. The images show a glass design on the back, a vertically positioned dual rear camera and also a large fingerprint sensor, sitting just below the rear camera.
Camera specifications
The leaked images show a vertically positioned dual rear camera setup while the notch will contain the front camera. While the image leaks convey the design aspects of the phone's camera, no specifications around the sensors have been leaked yet. However, some reports suggest a 16MP+20MP rear camera setup but it's still early in the day to say this for sure.
Under the hood
OnePlus 6 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, along with 6GB/8GB RAM, and 64GB/256GB inbuilt storage. We may also see the battery getting an upgrade from the current 3300mAh capacity of the OnePlus 5T. The model is likely to have Dash Charge technology and will run on the latest version of OxygenOS, built on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
OnePlus 6 will be the company's most expensive smartphone
A recent leak suggests that the top-end OnePlus 6 with 8GB RAM/256GB storage will cost about CAD $749 (approx. Rs. 38,000) or USD $575. Comparing it with the price of OnePlus 5T 8GB/128GB variant ($559 in US, Rs. 37,999 in India), the OnePlus 6 will be slightly expensive but still way cheaper than the likes of iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+.
