OnePlus TV launch expected soon: Here's everything we expect
Last year in September, CEO Pete Lau had announced that OnePlus was developing a "premium, flagship TV" which might launch in 2019. But since then, the company has remained quiet about its venture into the TV space. And now, the reliable tipster Ishan Agarwal has claimed that the first-ever OnePlus TV is "not very far away" from becoming official. Here's everything about it.
OnePlus TV is just days or weeks away
In an interview last year, Lau said the company wanted to launch its first Smart TV in 2019. However, he didn't share any timeline. Fast-forward to May 2019, we expected OnePlus to give us a heads up about the same at the OnePlus 7 series launch event, but to no avail. Meanwhile, Agarwal's recent post suggests that OnePlus TV is just days/weeks away.

So, what do we know about OnePlus's Smart TV?
While we don't have any hard details about the OnePlus TV, Lau has confirmed that it'll be "a premium, flagship TV". Hence, we can expect it to feature a 4K display with HDR10+ support and high-resolution audio. But according to Agarwal, the display panel is unlikely to be OLED, meaning we could get an LCD panel or QLED-Samsung's trademark for quantum dot-infused LED panels.
OnePlus's TV will focus on connected living
In the interview, Lau claimed that the TV "won't be something that's perfect and absolutely complete and revolutionary from the start" but with regular updates, the TV will become smarter and connected over the five years. Hence, at this early stage, we expect the OnePlus TV to seamlessly stream media from smartphones, wirelessly sync to show updated calendar and some integration with IoT devices.

While heavyweights like Samsung, Sony, and LG currently dominate the TV space, they have been challenged by the aggressively-priced Android TVs from Xiaomi, Vu and others.
