While Google's Pixel smartphones offer the finest Android experience, the flagship models are disliked for their lackluster design. And, now according to two separate leaks, Google Pixel 4 may either come with a punch-hole display design or a conventional screen with an iPhone 11-like square camera array. Old design, new phone: That's Pixel 4 for you! Why, Google, why?
Google Pixel 4 to get Galaxy S10+ like punch-hole design?
According to some leaked hands-on images, the Google Pixel 4 will offer dual front and rear cameras. Interestingly, the front cameras will be housed in a punch-hole setup similar to the one on Galaxy S10+. The lack of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner also suggests that the upcoming phone will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. Notably, this design falls in line with previous leaks.
Or will it be inspired by Apple's iPhone 11?
In a separate leak, tipster @OnLeaks has given us a first glimpse at the Pixel 4 and it is totally different from anything we've seen so far. As per schematics, the Google flagship will have a multiple camera setup housed in a raised square-like module - similar to iPhone 11 renders. Further, we could see an in-screen fingerprint sensor and a smaller display notch.
A third design may also be in the works
But what about the dual front-facing speakers?
By adopting a punch-hole design or a smaller notch, Google will be able to stretch the display to the edges to offer more screen real-estate. But what about the dual front-facing speakers? Interestingly, one of the speakers could be housed in the front earpiece while the other could be packed in the bottom. This means speakers will stay but they're unlikely to be front-facing.
Everything else we know about Pixel 4 series
Like other flagships of 2019, the Google Pixel 4 series will be powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset. We also expect to see upto 8GB RAM and upto 256GB of storage. Further, we think QHD+ AMOLED displays, Active Edge sensors, and bigger batteries are also on the cards. Lastly, the Pixel 4 devices will debut the revamped Google Assistant as well as Android Q OS.
