iPhone 11 features: Improved displays, new taptic engine, and more
What's the story
In September, Apple will launch three new iPhone 11 models as the official successors to the famous iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and Xr.
The devices have been in the works for a long while and are expected to offer some amazing capabilities.
Now, the folks at 9To5Mac have given a glimpse at what they will bring on the table.
Let's take a look.
Display
OLED displays on iPhone Xs, Xs Max successors
Though we've seen only a few iPhone 11 leaks, the higher-end members of the line-up, iPhone 11 and 11 Max, are rumored to offer 3x OLED Retina displays.
Meanwhile, the replacement for iPhone Xr, possibly iPhone 11r, will feature a 2x Liquid Retina display.
The screen size of these models could vary but the resolution will remain the same as the current generation of iPhones.
Processor
A13 chip, new taptic engine under the hood
Under the hood, the new iPhones are expected to be powered by an Apple-made A13 Bionic chip.
The new chipset is being developed using a 7nm+ process and is touted to offer improved single-core performance along with faster onboard AI processing.
Plus, there will also be a new Taptic Engine - codenamed leap haptics - that may replace the 3D Touch tech.
Camera system
Triple rear cameras with smart frame feature
Further, the OLED iPhone 11 models will have three 12MP cameras, including one wide-angle shooter, within a square-ish space.
The wide-angle shooter will not only capture wide shots but also enable a Smart Frame feature that will capture the area around the framed part for perspective adjustment.
Notably, the iPhone 11r will offer an upgraded dual-camera module with standard and telephoto lenses.
Information
Slo-mo for selfie lovers
The 7MP front-facing snappers of current generation iPhones will be upgraded to a 12MP shooter. Plus, they will also offer the ability to record slow-motion videos at 120 fps.
Other changes
Other minor changes likely to be included
Apple may also offer reverse wireless charging, dual Bluetooth audio connectivity, and an 18W charging brick with the new iPhone 11 models.
However, one thing that might disappoint would be the exclusion of USB-C port from the package; reports indicate that the devices will still use the Lightning Connector.
We would be hearing more as the launch date of the devices nears.
