2018 Mitsubishi Outlander launched in India for Rs. 31.54 lakh
Japanese automaker Mitsubishi Motors has launched its much-awaited all-new Outlander SUV in India for Rs. 31.54 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). After a long gap of six years, this SUV comes as Mitsubishi's first all-new model for the Indian market. Notably, this Outlander model was launched as a facelift in international markets in 2015 and has now finally arrived in India. Here's our roundup.
New Outlander gets LED lamps and electric sunroof
The new Mitsubishi Outlander gets LED headlamps with LED Daytime Running Lights, LED front fog lamps, electric sunroof, rain sensing wipers, heated mirrors, LED rear combination lamps and 16-inch alloy wheels. In terms of dimensions, the 7-seater SUV is 4,695mm long, 1,810mm wide and 1,710mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,670mm and ground clearance of 190mm.
6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system
Inside the cabin, the new Outlander gets 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 710-watt Rockford Fosgate sound system, leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and electric parking brake. In terms of safety, the SUV gets seven airbags, Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Hill-start Assist, and Active Stability Control. Moreover, the seats in the second and third row can fold flat for extra luggage space.
Under the hood
The new Mitsubishi Outlander is offered only in petrol engine option. Under the hood, the four-wheel drive SUV is powered by a 2.4-litre MIVEC petrol engine that generates 165 bhp and 222Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed Continuously Variable Transmission gearbox and can do a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 11.1 seconds, according to the car-maker.
