The phablet was first launched in China in May'17 in 64GB and 128GB variants. The dual-SIM Mi Max 2 comes with a fingerprint-scanner on the rear panel. With slightly older Gorilla Glass 3, it offers split screen and one-handed interface features. Indians love bigger screens: Xiaomi spokesperson
During the launch, Xiaomi spokesperson said the Max 2 phablet is a perfect combination for those who like to use tablets as phones. He added the 6.4-inch phablet, with a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port, gives users who make calls on 7-inch tablets an easy option. The device was launched in India as Xiaomi observed that Indians like "very large-screen" phones.
