Airtel down: Internet services restored after major outage across India
Hundreds of users of Airtel from various locations in India Friday took to social media to complain that both its broadband and mobile data services were down. Users also complained that the Airtel Thanks app had stopped working too. Meanwhile, Airtel confirmed the outage, saying it was due to a technical glitch. "The services have been fully restored," a company spokesperson told Moneycontrol.

Even though it was brief, the outage disrupted work-from-home schedules for several people, who later took to social media to complain. Many users have maintained that this is the second time this month that they are facing this issue.

In a tweet, Airtel acknowledged the outage and said that the services are "back to normal" now in all affected regions. "Our internet services had a brief disruption, and we deeply regret the inconvenience this may have caused you," the company said. "Everything is back as normal now, as our teams keep working to deliver a seamless experience to our customers," it added.
What do we know about the outage?
As per outage tracking website Downdetector, Airtel internet had problems since about 11:30 am on Friday. The website shows 7,416 users had reported an outage with their connection as of 11:28 am. It further shows 52% of users reported a "total blackout," 33% reported issues with mobile internet. 15% of users also reported "No Signal," according to the website.
Which regions were affected by the outage?
Downdetector had reported that the outage affected many major cities in India. These include Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Chennai. Notably, the outage didn't affect all users as some continued to be able to use calling and data services without any problems.
