Arguably world's most-used messaging mobile app, WhatsApp currently boasts of 1.3 billion monthly active users. 75 billion messages were exchanged despite an hour-long outage reported across the world. It was the heaviest in western Europe. The feat assumes significance also because it was achieved without Blackberry OS and Windows Phone services, which WhatsApp had discontinued on December 31.
