Xiaomi's sub-brand Redmi has debuted into the smart TV segment with its all-new offering, the Redmi TV. Priced at CNY 3,799 (approximately Rs. 38,000), the Redmi TV comes features a 70-inch display with 4K HDR support, a Bluetooth powered voice remote controller, an octa-core processor, and runs on in-house Android-based PatchWall UI. The all-new Redmi TV comes with a conventional rectangular design with ultra-slim bezels surrounding the screen. It sports a massive 70-inch display with 4K HDR support and is touted to offer a 60% larger viewing area than 55-inch TVs. Moreover, the Redmi TV is backed by Dolby Atmos and DTS HD support to offer mesmerizing sound experience.
Here's a look at the internal specifications
The Redmi TV is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Amlogic processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage for storing apps. Under the hood, it runs on an in-house Android-based UI called PatchWall. The PatchWall is an AI-enabled user interface which understands user preferences and shows personalized recommendations.
Connectivity options offered by the Redmi TV
As far as connectivity options are concerned, the Redmi TV offers dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, two USB ports, three HDMI ports, and AV input. It also comes with a Bluetooth-enabled remote with voice control and brand's personal assistant XiaoAI.
Pricing and availability
As for the pocket pinch, the all-new Redmi TV is priced at CNY 3,799 (approximately Rs. 38,000). The pre-orders for the TV are underway, and it will go on sale in China from September 10. As of now, there is no official word about its launch in India. However, we expect the company to launch the Redmi TV in the country soon.
