Amazon's new Fire HD 8 tablet debuts with AI tools
Amazon has unveiled its latest Fire HD 8 tablet, which comes equipped with innovative generative AI-powered tools. These advanced features are not exclusive to the new model, as Amazon plans to integrate them into the Fire HD 10 and Fire Max 11 tablets as well. The AI capabilities include a writing assist feature built into the device's keyboard, providing grammar assistance and transforming text into various pre-set styles.
AI tools enhance user experience on Amazon's tablets
The AI-powered writing assist feature is designed to work with any app on the tablet, offering users a quick way to refine their text. For instance, it can transform a casual phrase like "what's up with my paycheck" into something more formal. Additionally, when using Amazon's Silk browser, users can access 'Webpage Summaries,' an AI tool that provides concise summaries of websites in seconds.
Amazon's AI tools allow for custom wallpaper creation
Another innovative feature is the 'Wallpaper Creator,' which enables users to create a wallpaper from a chat prompt. Amazon plans to roll out these tools to all compatible Fire tablets later this month. Users can either choose from one of the curated prompts or let their imagination guide them. The algorithm will then generate unique, high-resolution images that can be used as the tablet's wallpaper.
