2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 launched in India at Rs. 17-lakh
Triumph Motorcycles has launched its updated Tiger 1200 touring bike in India. While the Tiger 1200 range consists of 6 models, the British automobile maker has introduced only the XCx model in India at a price of Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom). A new LED-headlamp, keyless ignition and 11 kg lighter
The 2018 Tiger 1200 XCx gets a new full-LED headlamp, adaptive cornering lights, and metalized fuel-tank badge and side panels. Moreover, the new updates also include a 5-inch fully digital instrumentation console, backlit switchgear, keyless ignition, and new color options and graphics. Moreover, 2018 Tiger 1200 is 11 kg lighter than the previous generation, with Triumph saving weight on the chassis, engine, and exhaust.
2018 Tiger 1200 features a 1,215 cc engine
The all new Tiger 1200 continues to use the same engine as seen in the previous generation. You get a 1,215 cc in-line three-cylinder engine that generates 139 BHP at 9,350 rpm and 122 Nm of peak torque at 7,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Moreover, the bike gets updated cruise control and shift-assist for clutchless gear changes.
The Tiger 1200 now comes with 'Off Road Pro' mode
The bike also offers an 'Off Road Pro' riding mode along with a choice of up to six riding modes. Notably, the updated tourer now has an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) along with updated electronics including an optimized cornering ABS, traction control, Hill-hold assist, and ride-by-wire throttle. Moreover, there's an electrically adjustable windscreen, optional heated grips and seats and 12V power outlets as well.
The 2018 Tiger 1200 gets electronically stable suspension, Brembo brakes
Up front, the bike gets an electronically adjustable 48mm WP upside-down forks with 190mm of travel and a WP monoshock at rear with 193mm travel which is also electronically adjustable. For braking performance, the all-new Tiger 1200 gets twin 305mm disc brakes with Brembo four-piston calipers up front and a single 282mm disc with a Nissin two-piston caliper at the rear.
