2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift launched in India
Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the much-anticipated Ciaz facelift version in India. The 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz comes at a starting price of Rs. 8.19 lakh for the petrol Sigma variant and goes up to Rs. 10.97 lakh for the diesel Alpha model. The updated sedan comes with some design tweaks, additional features, and debuts a new 1.5-liter petrol engine. Here's more.
Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift: At a glance
Up front, the updated Ciaz gets a redesigned grille, a new bumper with bigger intakes, new LED projector auto headlamps with daytime running lights and LED fog lamps. Further, the facelifted sedan also gets a redesigned rear bumper along with new LED tail lamps. The updated trims also get some chrome accents and new 16-inch alloy wheels.
Inside the cabin
In terms of overall look, the 2018 Ciaz gets a new matte finish as against the previous glossy look but retains the beige interiors. Additionally, there are new faux wood inserts, a new steering wheel with dedicated cruise control, a redesigned instrument cluster along with a Multi-Info color display. Moreover, the car still has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and 'Suzuki Connect' telematics system.
Under the hood
The Ciaz facelift debuts a new 1.5-liter K-Series petrol engine with mild hybrid technology, which produces 103bhp of power and 138Nm of peak torque. The diesel models are powered by the same 1.3-liter turbocharged motor which generates a maximum power of 89bhp and 200Nm of peak torque. The car delivers a claimed mileage of 21.56kmpl in manual petrol variants and 28.09kmpl in diesel models.
On the road
The 2018 Ciaz comes loaded with safety features including a new speed alert system and seatbelt reminder for both driver and front passenger. Further, the car also has dual airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, and ISOFIX child-seat mounting points as standard. Moreover, the automatic trims of Ciaz get Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and hill control assist.
