2018 BMW X3 petrol variant launched at Rs. 56.90 lakh
After introducing the diesel variant of the all-new BMW India has now finally launched the petrol version of the luxury SUV. Priced at Rs. 56.90 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the petrol version will be offered in the BMW X3 xDrive30i Luxury line. Notably, the car will be assembled at the company's Chennai plant and its bookings are now open across India. Here's more.
At a glance
Built on a new frame, this third-gen X3 is significantly stiffer and weighs 55kg lesser than its previous model. Interestingly, while the car retains the overall dimensions of its predecessor, the wheelbase on the 2018 X3 is longer. Moreover, the BMWX3 xDrive30i Luxury line gets added richness with the chrome radiator grille bars, dual-tone underbody protection, air-breather in chrome and 19-inch light-alloy wheels.
The cabin gets leather upholstery, 360-degree cameras, iDrive infotainment system
On the inside, the all-new X3 offers leather upholstery, a Sensatec-covered instrument panel with contrast stitching and Fine-wood trim. The cabin also gets the sixth-gen iDrive infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Harmon-Kardon 600 watt audio system and 360-degree cameras. Other features include BMW ConnectedDrive, Automatic Differential Brakes, Dynamic Traction Control, Adaptive suspension and chrome 'X' logo located on doors and center console.
Under the hood
The BMWX3 xDrive30i gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo petrol engine which generates a max power of 250bhp and 350Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox which allows the car to do 0-100kph in 6.3sec (claims BMW). The engine is also equipped with BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system which distributes power to the front and rear axle.
