Apple's 2018 iPhones: Price and specs leaked
Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones this fall, reportedly sometime in September. And thanks to Apple's own iOS 12 and other leaks, we have a good idea about the design of 2018 iPhones. Now, in the latest development, a report has tipped off the expected pricing and specs of the upcoming iPhones. Here's everything we know.
About the 2018 iPhone line up
Apple is expected to launch three new iPhones this year - a 5.8-inch iPhone X (successor to 2017's iPhone X), a 6.1-inch iPhone 9 (successor to iPhone 8) and an all-new 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus.
What we know about the 6.1-inch iPhone (iPhone 9)?
The iPhone 9 will feature an LCD display with a notch to house the Face ID setup. Earlier, a hands-on video had confirmed that it will have a single rear camera with possibly a larger sensor, a glass back and aluminum frame. Further, a report by TrendForce suggests the phone will get 3GB of RAM and will be available in 64GB and 256GB storage variants.
About the 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus
The 2018 iPhone X and iPhone X Plus will feature OLED display with an improved Face ID setup. Further, both the phones will sport a dual rear-camera setup, a glass back and stainless steel frame. In terms of internals, TrendForce report suggests that both the phones will have 4GB RAM and will be offered in three storage configurations - 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
TrendForce report says 2018 iPhones may support Apple Pencil
So far, the Apple Pencil has been exclusive to iPad Pro models. However, the TrendForce report claims that Apple may introduce Pencil support in the upcoming iPhone models. Now this is something analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had suggested earlier, but he didn't specifically mention 2018 iPhones.
Pricing and Availability
The report suggests the iPhone 9 will come at a starting price of around $699-$749, the 5.8-inch variant at around $899-$949 and the iPhone X at $999. Further, the iPhone X and X Plus have already been assembled while iPhone 9 will be assembled in mid-September. Moreover, all the three models are expected to be shipped in September-October "as previously scheduled", claims the report.
