'You are the backbone, DNA': Rahul Gandhi to Congress workers
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi addressed party workers in a video message ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Thursday. In it, he emphasized their crucial role in challenging the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s ideology across India, including remote villages. "This is not a normal election. This is a battle to save our country and the Constitution," Gandhi stated, urging every "Babbar Sher" to ensure that Congress's promises reach every household.
Gandhi praises party workers, criticizes BJP-RSS
Gandhi also called Congress workers the "backbone and DNA" who helped bring key ideas from the people of India into the party's manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He criticized the BJP-RSS for opposing India's vision and undermining its Constitution, democratic structure, institutions, including the Election Commission of India, and legal system. "You are our defenders, we rely on you, and we love you," he told party workers.

Participation of tribals must in building modern India: Gandhi
In another post on X from his official account, Gandhi stated that the aim of the Congress is to ensure tribal participation in the building of modern India. "The aim of the Congress is not only to protect water, forests, and land but also to ensure the participation of tribals in the building of modern India. The country will become strong only when the foundation is strong," he said.
First phase of Lok Sabha elections begins on Friday
Gandhi's address came a day before the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections, which will begin on Friday. Polling will take place in all 39 Tamil Nadu seats, five in Uttarakhand, Assam, and Maharashtra, two in Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Manipur, one each in Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim, Lakshadweep, 12 in Rajasthan, eight in Uttar Pradesh, six in Madhya Pradesh, four in Bihar, and three in West Bengal.
