Can see BJP wave in all five states: PM Modi
Just a few hours before the first phase of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party will emerge victorious in all five states-Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand, Manipur-and form the government with an absolute majority. Speaking to ANI, he said the people of all these states will give BJP the opportunity to serve them.
Atmosphere of pro-incumbency, says PM
Reiterating his Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas mantra, the PM said that the BJP is always involved in serving people. "I can see a wave for BJP in all states. We'll win with an overwhelming majority and people in five states will give us an opportunity to serve them," Modi said. He added that there's an atmosphere of pro-incumbency and not anti-incumbency in BJP-ruled states.
Always tried to win farmers' hearts: Modi
Speaking about the three farm laws that led to a year-long agitation on Delhi's borders, Modi said they were brought for farmers' benefit and have been withdrawn in the country's interest. "I am someone who is on a journey to win the hearts of farmers. I understand the pain of farmers with marginal landholdings. I have always tried to win their hearts," he said.
Yogi prioritized security in UP, says PM Modi
Praising the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh, Modi said, "There was a time in UP when goons could do anything they wanted, today they surrender. Yogi ji prioritized security and didn't compromise with it."
Government doesn't interfere in probe agencies' working: Modi
Rejecting the opposition's allegations of the central government misusing probe agencies, he said the government does not interfere in their working. The PM said that polls keep taking place in the country and these agencies work according to their norms. He asserted that these agencies add to the national treasury in cases of corruption for which the government should be lauded.
PM Modi targets dynastic politics
During the interview, the PM launched a scathing attack on dynastic politics, terming it "a big threat and biggest enemy of democracy". "Family runs the party, this is a big danger to democracy. The family-run parties are the biggest enemy of democracy as it negates the basic norms. Their goal is to save family whether there is any benefit of the country," he said.
Didn't speak against anyone's father or grandfather: PM
Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's allegation on mentioning former PM Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru during the debate in Lok Sabha on Tuesday, Modi said, "Didn't speak against anyone's father/grandfather. I said what a former PM had said." "It's the right of the nation (to know). They say we don't mention Nehru ji. If we do, then too there's a difficulty. Don't understand this fear."
Not right to speak on Ferozepur security breach: PM
When asked about the recent security breach in Punjab's Ferozepur, Modi said, "I have maintained silence on the issue. Supreme Court is looking into the matter. Any statement that I make in this regard will impact the investigation, and it is not right."
