BJP's Vikram Saini: Hindustan belongs to Hindus!
A few months back, RSS supremo Mohan Bhagwat had said that Hindustan is the country of Hindus, but does not exclude others. However, it seems members of his political arm (BJP) don't agree with him. BJP MLA from UP's Muzaffarnagar Vikram Saini claimed that India is a country for Hindus. He accused previous UP governments of framing policies that benefited only minorities. Here's more.
What exactly did Vikram Saini say?
Referring to the Indo-Pak partition, Saini said "A few incompetent leaders stopped these people with long beards (Muslims) from leaving. These people usurped land and wealth. Had they not been here, all this would have been ours." He claimed to be a "kattar Hinduwadi." He said that BJP believed in "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas." But, previous governments favored Muslims and worked with a bias.
Saini later claims that his remarks were distorted
Later, Saini said these remarks, made at a New Year's event, were taken out of context. He said, "I said nothing about partition. I only said people with long beards have been government schemes' beneficiaries during SP regime." Incidentally, Saini was detained under NSA for the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots case. Last year, he also threatened to "break limbs" of those who killed/disrespected cows.
Another BJP MLA laments that Muslims will outnumber Hindus
Yesterday, another BJP MLA from Alwar (Rajasthan), Banwari Singhal said Muslims were bearing more children with an aim to outnumber Hindus and take control of the country by 2030. In a Facebook post, he said "Muslims are giving birth to 12 to 14 children...while Hindus restrict the number to one or two." He added that "soon, the PM, president and CMs will be Muslims."
Aren't BJP MPs and MLAs crossing the line?
These remarks come on the heels of union minister Anantkumar Hegde's claim that BJP would soon change the constitution to remove "secular" from it. He later apologized for it. These statements are, in fact, hate speeches. Considering these recent incidents, isn't it time that BJP 'controls' its members? Also, is disciplinary action being taken? BJP should answer.
