'Whose money?': Rahul invokes 'Ambani wedding' to attack Modi
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of creating a financial structure that favors industrialists. Addressing a rally in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, Gandhi referred to the lavish wedding of Mukesh Ambani's son, Anant Ambani. "Have you seen Ambani's wedding?...Whose money is this? It is your money... You take bank loans to marry your children but Narendra Modi has made such a structure under which the selected 25 people can spend crores on weddings," he said.
Gandhi criticizes BJP's Agniveer scheme
Gandhi also took a jab at the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government's Agniveer scheme. He claimed that this initiative was designed to deprive martyred soldiers' families of their pensions and other benefits. "Do you all know what the Agniveer (scheme) is? I will tell you. It's a way to snatch away the pension, canteen, and martyr status from Indian soldiers," he said. The Congress has previously stated its intention to abolish the Agniveer system if it gains power at the Centre.
Gandhi promises financial relief for Haryana women
In Sonipat, Gandhi criticized PM Modi for failing to reduce gas cylinder prices as promised. He also pledged that if the Congress comes to power, it would provide ₹2,000 monthly to women in Haryana. "PM Modi earlier used to say that the price of a gas cylinder has come down to ₹400. What is it now? ₹1,200... When our government is formed...you will get it at ₹500," he said.
