Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday praised the successful culmination of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj, which saw over 66 crore people show up.
The 45-day event was hosted at the Sangam, where the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers meet.
In a blog post, he appreciated the central government, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's government, and Prayagraj residents for their hospitality toward devotees from across India.

Describing the gathering as a "mahayagna" of unity, PM Modi thanked the 140 crore Indians for their collective faith.
He noted the difficulties in organizing such a mammoth event and apologized for any shortcomings.
"I know organizing such a huge event was not easy. I pray to Maa Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati that if we have fallen short in our worship, please forgive us," he wrote in Hindi.
Thirty devotees died during a stampede at the Maha Kumbh last month.

PM Modi highlights Maha Kumbh's significance for management studies
The prime minister said the Maha Kumbh has become a case study for modern management professionals because of its scale.
He pointed out that no formal invitations were sent, yet millions turned up to take a holy dip at Sangam.
"The whole world is surprised how such a large number of crores of people gathered on a river bank at the Triveni Sangam," he said.
Youth involvement
PM Modi praises youth participation, Adityanath's leadership
He stressed on India's youth participating in the event as a good omen for keeping cultural values alive.
"The youth of India coming forward to participate in the Maha Kumbh sends a very big message," he said.
Modi also lauded Adityanath's leadership and attributed the success of the event to various workers.
He said this year's Maha Kumbh set a record with attendees almost double the US's population.
