AAP's Kumar Vishwas says he is the "youngest Advani"
AAP's internal feud between chief Arvind Kejriwal and spokesperson Kumar Vishwas continues to fester. After being sidelined during the Rajya Sabha nominations, Vishwas compared himself to BJP senior leader LK Advani. He said, "Before anyone makes fun of me, I am saying on my own that everyone wants to honour me as I have become the youngest Advani in politics." Here's more about it.
Why did Vishwas use the Advani analogy?
It is a known fact that despite being BJP's founding father, prime-ministership and president-ship eluded LK Advani. Now, though respected as a party elder, he has been cooped in the party's Margdarshak Mandal (advisory body) without any real say. Correspondingly, Vishwas indicated that despite working hard for establishing AAP, he didn't get an RS berth. Notably, Vishwas had lobbied hard for the nomination.
Vishwas also took digs at Modi and Rahul
While speaking at a Kavi Sammelan, Vishwas also criticized PM Narendra Modi. He said "Modiji planned to deposit Rs. 15L in everyone's accounts, but people close to him ran away with the money. First Vijay Mallya and now Nirav Modi." Further, he slammed his 2014 LS election's co-contender from Amethi, Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He mocked that despite promises of development, potholes remain.
