Vijay's party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, officially recognized by poll body
Tamil superstar Vijay's political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has received official recognition from the Election Commission (EC). The approval comes seven months after the actor submitted a request to the poll panel. At the time, he said that his party's mission is to establish "fundamental political change" with a transparent, caste-free, and corruption-free administration. "Our first door has opened," Vijay said in a short statement following the EC's recognition.
