Yogi Adityanath swearing-in ceremony: Modi, 'The Kashmir Files' team invited
After staking claim to form the government in Uttar Pradesh for the second term, Yogi Adityanath will be swearing-in as Chief Minister at a mega event in Lucknow on Friday. Reportedly, preparations are being made for thousands of guests, including high-profile leaders and businesspeople who are expected to attend. The ceremony will be held at Lucknow's Ekana Cricket Stadium at 4:00 pm on Friday.
Why does this story matter?
Notably, BJP won 255 of 403 seats in the recent UP Assembly polls. This is the first time in over three decades that a party won two consecutive elections in UP after completing a full term. Adityanath earlier met Governor Anandiben Patel after the BJP legislature party elected him as the leader, and Nishad Party and Apna Dal(S) presented letters of support for BJP.
Who are key invitees to the mega swearing-in ceremony?
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the chief guest at the swearing-in ceremony of Adityanath. Moreover, all current and past BJP state Chief Ministers have been invited. Several Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, and the team behind the recently released The Kashmir Files movie have also received invitations. Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and 60 other business tycoons were also reportedly invited.
Adityanath's late-night call to invite Mulayam, Akhilesh, Mayawati
Adityanath also reportedly made a late-night call to invite SP leaders Mulayam Singh Yadav and Akhilesh Yadav and BSP's Mayawati to the ceremony. However, Akhilesh and Mayawati are unlikely to attend the ceremony. Mulayam, too, may not attend the ceremony owing to his old age.
