Yogi will spend a whopping Rs. 7.86cr on counting cows!
After banning beef, flagging off cow ambulances and setting-up Aadhaar-like identification system, BJP doesn't disappoint its muse: the cow. UP CM Yogi Adityanath has decided that government will spend Rs. 7.86cr on doing a head count of cows and other bovines, including buffaloes, pigs, goats and sheep. The last survey done in 2012 revealed that there are about 205.66L cows in UP. Here's more!
Cows will get free medical treatment and get insured
Unlike earlier censuses, this time the census will be done to know the exact number of cattle in UP. Apart from this, the cabinet decided that the state will be divided into four zones and animal fairs will be organized. Further, they will not only be given free medical treatment but will also be insured. Cattle-owners will pay the premium for the insurance.
Interestingly, UP recently announced setting up of gau sanrakshan samiti
Interestingly, last week, UP took an important step to ensure cow protection. UP government set up the "Gau Sanrakshan Samiti" (cow protection committee) to be headed by the district magistrate. It will also include the superintendent of police and district's chief development officer. Thus, apart from maintaining law and order, these officials will protect cows and market cow produce like incense sticks and urine.
Earlier, in Uttarakhand, Yogi attended to CM Trivendra Rawat's cows
Further, Yogi's cow obsession is not limited to UP. After Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani's swearing-in ceremony, Yogi was invited to Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat's house. There also, he spent his morning feeding cows. What's more, he also tweeted about it.
