
Union minister's nephew shot dead by brother during argument
What's the story
One of Union Minister Nityanand Rai's nephews was shot dead and another was injured in Bhagalpur, Bihar, following an argument over tap water on Thursday morning.
While Vishwajit was shot dead, Jaijit sustained injuries.
"There was a dispute between the two brothers over water, after which firing took place from both sides. In this incident, one brother died, his mother who came to save him also got shot in the hand," said Shambhu Kumar, the local SHO.

Dispute escalates into violent altercation
According to Aaj Tak, both nephews lived in the same house in Jagatpur village, Naugachhia. Vishwajit was the older brother.
Villager Pradeep Kumar told the news channel that he witnessed the incident, "We were outside... There was some dispute between brothers regarding the tap water after which there was firing."
Bhagalpur Superintendent of Police Prerna Kumari is presently investigating the case.
"We received information in the morning that two brothers shot each other in a mutual dispute," she said.

Woman is Rai's paternal cousin
One shell and one cartridge have been recovered from the scene, she added.
The injured duo were taken to BJP MLC Dr. NK Yadav's hospital for treatment, and Vishwajit's body was sent for postmortem.
Per reports, the injured woman is Rai's paternal cousin. Rai is the Minister of State for Home Affairs.
