Details about Karunanidhi's declining health
According to NDTV, Karunanidhi has contracted jaundice and is facing breathing difficulties consequently, thereby resulting in a fluctuating health condition. The 94-year-old DMK chief has been hospitalized since July 28, when he was admitted to the Kauvery Hospital for fever and urinary tract infection. However, even after initial treatment, doctors advised a longer stay due to an age-related overall decline in Karunanidhi's health.

Since his hospitalization on July 28, the five-time Tamil Nadu CM has seen several high profile visitors including the likes of President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu. Karunanidhi was also visited by Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, former PM H D Deve Gowda, and actors-turned-politicians Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Meanwhile, DMK supporters continue to pray for Karunanidhi's recovery.
21 DMK cadres allegedly died of shock over Karunanidhi's illness
Just a few days back, Karunanidhi's son and DMK working president MK Stalin said that 21 DMK cadres had died over shock, unable to bear his illness. He also advised DMK supporters to not take any extreme measures in the wake of his ill health.
