Tejashwi Yadav unveils RJD's manifesto for upcoming Lok Sabha elections

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav unveiled the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)'s manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Saturday.
The manifesto, dubbed 'Parivartan Patra,' was introduced in the presence of senior RJD leaders.
It comprises 24 pledges, including discontinuing the Agniveer Scheme, new jobs from August 15, and providing cheaper gas cylinders, among others.

RJD's manifesto promises 5 new airports for Bihar
A significant commitment in the RJD's manifesto is the construction of five new airports in Bihar, should the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc form a government at the Centre.
The proposed airports are planned for Purnea, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, and Raxaul to boost state connectivity.
Yadav has also committed to granting special status to Bihar and reinstating the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) in the manifesto.
He further pledged to address unemployment by initiating job provision from August 15.
Women empowerment
RJD's manifesto pledges support for impoverished women
In a bid to support women from impoverished households, Yadav has promised an annual payment of ₹1 lakh to "sisters" on Raksha Bandhan.
"On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, we will provide ₹1 lakh to our sisters belonging to the poor household, every year," he said..
He also committed to providing cooking gas cylinders at a discounted price of ₹500.

200 units of free electricity, MSP on 10 crops
Other promises include the implementation of the remaining recommendations of the Mandal Commission, the right to health, and 200 units of free electricity.
Minimum support price (MSP) will also be given on 10 crops, and pramilitary forces will be given martyr status if they die while on duty.
Voting for the seven-phase Lok Sabha elections will start on April 19. The counting will take place on June 4.
