#Elections2019: Lalu's son Tej Pratap announces new party 'Lalu-Rabri Morcha'
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tej Pratap on Monday floated a new party "Lalu-Rabri Morcha" named after his parents as the Yadav family feud worsened. He would reportedly field his own candidates in the elections. This comes three days after Tej Pratap, the former Bihar Health Minister, resigned from a post of RJD's student wing. Here's more.
Announced party in protest to being sidelined in RJD
Tej Pratap announced the outfit reportedly in protest to being sidelined in the Rashtriya Janata Dal's ticket distribution process. He targeted his younger brother and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, for "not paying heed" to his demand for accommodating his recommendation of candidates for Jehanabad and Sheohar constituencies. Tej Pratap also said Tejashwi is "completely surrounded by 'chaatukars' (yes-men)."
Tej Prasad upset since RJD fielded his father-in-law Chandrika Rai
Tej Pratap was reportedly upset since RJD fielded his father-in-law Chandrika Rai from Saran where Lalu Prasad won four times from. He also wants his aides to be fielded from Jehanabad and Sheohar. Tej Pratap would support Chandraprakash and Angesh Kumar for Jehanabad and Sheohar seats. He said if RJD doesn't field Chandraprakash from Jehanabad, he would support him as an independent candidate.
Will enter fray against father-in-law as an independent: Tej Pratap
On Monday, Tej Pratap addressed the media to announce the formation of his outfit Lalu-Rabri Morcha. He said that he would urge his mother and former Bihar CM, Rabri Devi, to contest from the family's traditional Saran constituency. "If my request is not considered, I will enter the fray against my father-in-law Chandrika Rai as an independent," he claimed.
