Sonia Gandhi is an Indian politician. She was born on December 9, 1946, in Veneto, Italy. She used to live in Italy until she married Rajiv Gandhi. After her marriage, she moved to India. She joined family's political party after the assassination of her mother-in-law and her husband's election as PM. She served as President of Indian National Congress from 1998 to 2017.
